Atlanta Braves Opening Day 2027: Your Complete Guide to Truist Park

The Opening Day Experience at Truist Park

Truist Park in the Cumberland neighborhood of Cobb County has become one of the premier baseball destinations in the country since opening in 2017. On Opening Day 2027, the Atlanta Braves will welcome fans back for another season of Southern baseball at its finest. The stadium holds just over 41,000 fans and every seat offers excellent sightlines of the diamond. The retractable canopy over the upper deck provides shade on those warm Georgia afternoons, and the open concourses let you walk the entire park without losing sight of the action. From the signature tomahawk chop echoing through the stands to the crack of the bat reverberating off the brick facade, Opening Day at Truist Park is an experience that captures the energy of a city that lives and breathes its Braves. Expect a packed house, flyovers, on-field ceremonies honoring legends of the franchise, and a buzz in the air that only the first pitch of a new season can deliver. The Braves organization consistently ranks among the best game-day experiences in baseball, and Opening Day cranks that up to eleven.

Tailgate and Pregame

The real Opening Day experience in Atlanta begins hours before first pitch at The Battery Atlanta, the mixed-use development that wraps around Truist Park like a baseball village. This 1.5-million-square-foot entertainment district features more than two dozen restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues all within walking distance of the stadium gates. Start your day at Terrapin Taproom for local craft beers and loaded nachos, or grab a seat on the patio at Sports & Social for big-screen pregame coverage. The plaza at The Battery transforms into a massive outdoor party on Opening Day, with live music, DJs, and fan activations sponsored by the team. For those driving in, arrive by 10 AM to snag a spot in the general parking lots along Windy Ridge Parkway where tailgating is in full swing with grills, coolers, and cornhole boards. The MARTA bus connection from the Arts Center station is also a solid option to skip the parking altogether. Gates typically open 90 minutes before first pitch.

After the Game

When the final out is recorded, the party moves right back into The Battery. Punch Bowl Social is a go-to for post-game drinks with its arcade games, bowling lanes, and craft cocktails. Cru Food and Wine Bar draws a more upscale crowd looking for a glass of wine and charcuterie after cheering all afternoon. If you want to venture beyond The Battery, head south on GA-400 into Buckhead, Atlanta's nightlife epicenter. Bars and clubs along Peachtree Road and Pharr Road will be packed with fans still riding the Opening Day high. Moondogs, Red Martini, and Tongue & Groove are reliable spots that combine great music with a stylish crowd. For a more laid-back vibe, Midtown offers options along Crescent Avenue including Ormsby's and The Vortex. Late-night food runs to Waffle House or The Varsity are practically a requirement after an Atlanta sports day.

Make It a Weekend

With Hartsfield-Jackson being the busiest airport in the world, getting to Atlanta is easy from anywhere. Book a hotel in Midtown or Buckhead to stay close to both the stadium and nightlife. Spend Saturday exploring the Atlanta BeltLine trail, hitting up Ponce City Market for brunch, or visiting the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. Sunday morning, grab breakfast at West Egg Cafe before catching a matinee game if the Braves have a weekend series. Atlanta in late March offers mild weather in the low 70s, perfect for walking the city and enjoying rooftop patios.
