Inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium: Your FIFA 2026 Match Day Guide

Editor

Mercedes-Benz Stadium in downtown Atlanta will host 8 FIFA World Cup 2026 matches, including a Semifinal on July 15 — making it one of the most important venues in the tournament.

Getting There

The stadium is directly connected to the MARTA rail system at the Vine City or GWCC/CNN Center stations. This is by far the best way to arrive on match day. If driving, parking at the stadium lots runs $40-60 and fills early. Rideshare drop-off is on Northside Drive.

What to Know Before You Go

Gates open 2 hours before kickoff. Mercedes-Benz Stadium has an all-cashless policy — bring a card or use mobile pay. The stadium's retractable roof will likely be closed for climate control in the Georgia summer heat (expect 85-95°F outside, 72°F inside).

Clear bag policy applies: bags must be clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and no larger than 12" x 6" x 12". Small clutch purses (4.5" x 6.5") are allowed.

Food & Drink Inside

Mercedes-Benz Stadium is famous for its fan-friendly concession pricing — the lowest in any US professional stadium. Expect $2 hot dogs, $3 nachos, and $5 beers. Yes, during the World Cup.

Before the Match

The best pre-match areas are:

  • Castleberry Hill (10-min walk) — Local breweries and restaurants
  • Centennial Olympic Park (5-min walk) — Expect a FIFA Fan Festival here
  • The Gulch (adjacent) — Tailgate area
  • CNN Center/State Farm Arena area — Restaurants and bars
  • Confirmed Atlanta Matches

    Pro Tips

    1. Take MARTA. Seriously. Traffic on match day will be a nightmare. 2. The stadium's 360-degree halo video board is the largest in the NFL — every seat has a great sightline. 3. Bring a light layer — the AC runs cold inside. 4. Download the Mercedes-Benz Stadium app for mobile ticketing, in-seat ordering, and wayfinding.
