Dallas-Fort Worth Weekend Guide 2027
Dallas-Fort Worth is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country, and its weekend scene in 2027 reflects that energy. From the polished nightlife of Uptown Dallas to the gritty live music venues of Deep Ellum, from the culinary creativity of Bishop Arts to the Western heritage of Fort Worth's Stockyards, DFW offers a weekend experience that is more diverse and exciting than most people expect.
The Metroplex's size means you will want to pick a home base and explore from there. Dallas and Fort Worth are distinct cities with different personalities, connected by a 30-mile stretch of highway. Most visitors base themselves in Dallas for the nightlife and dining, but Fort Worth deserves at least a day trip for its unique blend of Western culture and modern food scenes.
Friday Night: Uptown Dallas
Uptown Dallas is the polished nightlife district where the city's young professionals converge on weekends. McKinney Avenue and Knox-Henderson are the main corridors, packed with bars, restaurants, and rooftop lounges. The Katy Trail Ice House is a massive patio bar that is packed from happy hour onward. Concrete Cowboy brings a high-energy club vibe. The Standard Pour offers craft cocktails in a speakeasy-inspired setting.
For a more upscale Friday night, start with dinner at Town Hearth or the Mansion on Turtle Creek, then move to the rooftop at the W Dallas or the lounge at the Ritz-Carlton. Dallas dresses up on Friday nights — business casual is the minimum in Uptown.
Saturday: Deep Ellum and Bishop Arts
Deep Ellum is Dallas's creative heartbeat, and Saturday is when it is at its best. The neighborhood's streets are lined with murals, music venues, and bars that range from craft cocktail spots to dive bars. Trees is one of the best live music venues in Texas. Twilite Lounge is an intimate cocktail bar with a curated soundtrack. Deep Ellum Brewing Company offers tours and tastings in their taproom. For food, Pecan Lodge serves some of the best barbecue in the state, and the line is worth every minute.
Bishop Arts in the Oak Cliff neighborhood is Dallas's most charming dining and shopping district. Saturday brunch at Oddfellows or Eno's Pizza Tavern is followed by browsing the boutiques and galleries along Davis Street. The evening scene in Bishop Arts is more relaxed than Deep Ellum, with wine bars and small-plate restaurants creating a neighborhood dinner-party atmosphere.
Sunday: Fort Worth Stockyards
A DFW weekend is not complete without a trip to the Fort Worth Stockyards. The daily cattle drive down Exchange Avenue is a genuine piece of living history. Billy Bob's Texas, the world's largest honky-tonk, hosts live country music and bull riding every weekend. The Stockyards dining scene has upgraded significantly, with restaurants like Provender Hall and Funky Picnic Brewery offering modern takes on Texas cuisine.
Fort Worth's Sundance Square downtown area is also worth exploring, with restaurants, bars, and the Kimbell Art Museum — one of the finest small museums in the country.
