Dacha Beer Garden on M Street SE offers a European-style outdoor beer hall with German brews and communal tables. Mission Navy Yard serves upscale Mexican cuisine with a strong cocktail program. Bluejacket, the craft brewery on Tinker Street, brews exceptional beers on-site and has a tap list that rivals any brewpub in the country. The parking around the stadium is limited so the Metro Green Line to Navy Yard-Ballpark station is by far the best way to arrive, dropping you within a five-minute walk of the gates. Water taxi service along the Anacostia River also runs on game days, offering a scenic approach to the ballpark.
After the Game
After the game, the Navy Yard area keeps the energy going. The Yards Park along the riverfront provides a beautiful backdrop for an evening walk, and the restaurants along Tingey Street and Water Street SE stay open late on game nights. Salt Line serves excellent oysters and seafood with waterfront views. All-Purpose on Capitol Hill nearby dishes out some of the best pizza in DC with a serious wine list. If you want to head further into the city, the 14th Street corridor in NW has become DC's premier nightlife strip with bars and restaurants packed along the street. Churchkey offers an incredible craft beer selection upstairs while Birch and Barley serves elevated American cuisine below. U Street NW, the historic corridor once known as "Black Broadway," features live music venues like the 9:30 Club and The Howard Theatre alongside cocktail bars like Service Bar and The Gibson. Adams Morgan on 18th Street is the late-night option with dive bars, dance clubs, and jumbo pizza slices to close out the evening.
Make It a Weekend
Washington DC is one of the great weekend cities in America with world-class museums, monuments, and dining. Fly into DCA for the shortest trip to the stadium, or IAD if you are coming from the West Coast. Stay in Navy Yard for proximity to the park, or in Dupont Circle or Penn Quarter for a more central location. Saturday, walk the National Mall from the Lincoln Memorial to the Capitol, visit the Smithsonian museums for free, and grab dinner in Georgetown along M Street. Sunday brunch at Founding Farmers or Le Diplomate on 14th Street is a DC tradition.
