# Overtown Music and Arts Festival 2026
The Overtown Music and Arts Festival returns on July 18, 2026 for another free, family-friendly celebration of one of Miami's most historic neighborhoods.
Overtown was the cultural and entertainment heart of Black Miami during the Jim Crow era — known as "Harlem of the South" — hosting Ella Fitzgerald, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, and countless other legends who couldn't stay at Miami Beach hotels but headlined shows on the other side of the bay. The festival honors that legacy with live music, visual art, food vendors, and community programming.
