# Inside the MAPS Backlot Experience: How Wynwood Does Outdoor Entertainment Right
Miami's Wynwood Arts District has become one of the country's most dynamic entertainment corridors. On April 20, MAPS Backlot — the 10,500 square foot outdoor production studio and event space — will host a curated experience that brings together live music, interactive entertainment, premium hospitality, and digital content creation under one roof.
The Venue
MAPS Backlot sits at the intersection of art and production in Wynwood. Originally built as a professional photo studio, the space features a 45-foot white cyclorama wall, a Royal Poinciana tree canopy, covered hangar space, and two fully equipped bars. It is one of the only outdoor professional production venues in Miami — and it doubles as one of the most distinctive event spaces in the city.
What to Expect
The experience is designed around flow. Guests move through curated zones — each with its own energy, its own purpose.
Live Music. Three DJs rotate throughout the day, keeping the sound moving from afternoon sets into the evening. The DJ lounge anchors the space, with VIP sections radiating outward so every table has proximity to the music without losing conversation.
Interactive Entertainment. A mechanical bull, dunk tank, basketball challenge, and prize wheel create activity stations throughout the venue. These are not afterthoughts — they are designed to keep energy high and give guests reasons to explore every corner of the space.
Premium Bar Service. A full bar operation runs the length of the venue, staffed with bartenders and table-side waitress service for VIP sections. Bottle service is available for reserved sections starting at $300.
Vendor Activations. Select lifestyle and specialty vendors are positioned along the main corridor, creating a marketplace feel that complements the entertainment without interrupting the flow.
Live Streaming. Content creators will broadcast live from the event at key moments throughout the day, extending the experience beyond the physical venue and into a digital audience.
The Operation Behind It
What separates a professional event from a casual gathering is the infrastructure behind it. This activation runs on a full operations platform — digital guest lists, real-time section management, mobile check-in at the door, and coordinated vendor placement.
Press Media Haus is producing the event in partnership with WKND, bringing enterprise-level event operations to an experience that feels intimate and curated. Every section is mapped. Every vendor is placed with intention. Every guest is tracked from entry to exit.
