Essence Festival of Culture returns to New Orleans July 3-6, 2026, at the Caesars Superdome and the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Now in its 30th year, Essence is the largest annual gathering of African American culture, music, and empowerment in the world.

The Experience

Essence is two festivals in one. The nighttime concerts at the Superdome feature the biggest names in music — past headliners include Beyonce, Janet Jackson, Kevin Hart, and Mary J. Blige.
